Tribal Feather Box

– Introducing our re-designed Tribal Feather Box –

In the Native tradition Feathers are used in smudging or ceremony to carry our prayers to the Creator.  We take very great care of our Feathers as well as our Medicines we use in ceremony.  We wanted to built a Feather Box that would honour this intention, that would hold strong and safe our tools we use in our spiritual path. 

Our Tribal Feather Boxes have returned with a full redesign.  We brought in all our cabinetmaking skills to build a classy and functional Feather carrier.  Made with ‘Birds Eye’ Maple (a prized  & celebrated wood) with a sliding drawer closure with a moose antler ‘button’.  Each box is lined with a Cedarwood bottom and is designed to fit an abalone shell with medicines.  We have also included a piece of moose leather to separate the shell from the feather.  We finished our box with a coat of Bear Grease which really makes the “Bird’s Eye” pop!!.  We made two sizes.  5″ wide x 3 1/4″ high x 20″ long & 7″ wide x 4″ High x 20″ Long.  Available with Abalone Shell and Sage Stick or without.

Last spring when we were completing the interior of The Lodge (Tribal’s new home) we finished all the walls with maple and cherry wood.  We were quite astonished when our wood supplier sent us an entire pallet of ‘Bird’s Eye’ Maple.  In the woodworking world ‘Bird’s Eye’ is one of the most prized wood in the entire world.  It is a very valuable wood that is cherished by woodworkers around the world.
