We had a really rough time coming up with a description for this. It is absolutely got a red tinge, with some brown and the closest, easy description would be Merlot. But what would I know about Merlot….so we are calling it Burgundy. In this picture the middle hide is suede out.

Fresh off of the presses ! We just got a load of burgundy moose back from our local tannery and we are very happy about it’s feel. This leather is very soft and supple. It is toggled when dried, so it is less stretchy. The colour is very uniform and the suede is soooo soft. The thickness is 3.5 ounces. Hides run from 5 sq ft up to 9 sqft.

C’est un orignal sauvage des montagnes Laurentiennes au nord de Montréal. Nous les cueillions chez des chasseurs et les faisons bronzer dans une tannerie locale. 3 1/2 onces sont les meilleures pour fabriquer des sacs à main, des sacs à tambours, etc., et pour de vrais mocassins pros.

  I buy all the hide and fur I use for making moccasins from Tribal Spirit.  The quality is  amazing, and the variety is much appreciated.  I also really love the traditional medicines they have available.   I only order my mitt and mocc leather from tribal Spirit. The owners are phenomenal and very invested and proud.
