Product Description

With 30″ x 17″ drum you are getting more elbow room, and it is more comfortable if the singers are on the bigger side. Pulled for northern traditional or southern, this drum has a bit more boom or echo than our smaller drums. Honour beats will stand out and ring. Available in natural or dyed hide and any custom wood frame design you can come up with.

Also includes suspended drum stand.

Eastern White Cedar Barrel Style Drum: Our solid cedar frame is a more traditional style drum. The tone that it gives is more of a BOOM than a THUD. There is more echo to the barrel style. For northern style songs our smaller drums between 24″ up to 30″ are more common in traditional gatherings. Southern style are more into larger drums 32 up to 36″. Our Barrel style drums are heavier, weighing 20 up to 35 pounds.

Raised Edge Powwow Drums: We make these drums with a cedar and plywood interior frame wrapped with Maple veneer Flex-Ply. This is an architectural plywood designed to bend. This drum is more popular for Northern Contemporary Powwow style songs. The tone is quicker and more of a THUD than a BOOM.

  I buy all the hide and fur I use for making moccasins from Tribal Spirit.  The quality is  amazing, and the variety is much appreciated.  I also really love the traditional medicines they have available.
