Parfleche was used to make durable, lightweight containers, such as folded pouches or boxes, for carrying food, tools, and personal belongings. Our Parfleche Pouch Kit comes exactly as in the picture. Including Deer Rawhide, cut with holes punched, red felt, deer leather lacing, moose antler button, and glass beads. We do a lot of the tricky work making this a simple DIY project. The fun is in the assembly and painting of the rawhide. Rawhide can either be painted, coloured with markers or left natural. We would encourage searching Parfleche to see the traditional way of painting the rawhide. Of course it can be done anyway your heart desires.
