New for summer 2026: we had an extended friend of Black Bear singers offer to harvest Chaga for us from the region around Manawan Quebec.  He work in the forest harvesting wood every winter and in his spare time gathers Chaga.  So we are offering both Chagas.  The real experts can tell us which is best lol.  

Chaga is a fungus/mushroom that grows on Birch Trees and has been used forever, across the country by Indigenous peoples as a traditional medicine mainly to boost immunity and overall health. It has also been used to treat diabetes and heart disease.

Chaga is a fungus/mushroom that grows on Birch Trees and has been used forever, across the country by Indigenous peoples as a traditional medicine mainly to boost immunity and overall health. It has also been used to treat diabetes and heart disease.
Directions; Use 4-6 cubes per 6 cups of water. (or the equivalent of 1 tsp per cup of water). Simmer on low heat for1 to 2 hrs, with lid on so it doesn’t evaporate.Or make big batches using a slow cooker on the low setting overnight. Can be refrigerated for up to 11 days and drank cold. It contains the same health benefits cold as it does hot. Once you have made your tea, do not discard the cubes of chaga. sit them out to dry, they can be reused 4 times. After using them the fourth time, dry them again and use them as a ember in your smudge shell.
