We are working really hard these days making a batch of ‘one-of-a-kind’ Dyed Hand Drums that Joywind is painting. We were asked to make up a few drums specifically for Orange Shirt day as it is known in the community. (Truth and Reconciliation Day Sept 30) More new designs will be coming throughout the fall. If you have a specific art request as gift season is coming, please email us and we will make it happen.

September 30 is set aside in Canada to honour the Children who survived the residential school system and also those who never returned home.
Joywind’s Mother and others in her family went through the Kamloops Residential School. Some survived, others did not. Throughout the country, there are gatherings and ceremonies to honour this day and several customers wanted to have Orange Drums to bring with them. We build these drums with respect for their requests. The Shirt represents the Children lost and Joywind included the Eagle wing to carry our prayers to the Creator.
