Opening Ceremonies. The day’s events were open to the public and included two guest lecture presentations, dress attire demonstration, weaving demonstration, fashion show for both Bhutanese dress and Lan Na/ Thai dress. |
Bank of Thailand Bank of Thailand Northern branch, Chiang Mai is located just north of the city proper. It has it’s own museum of currency and textiles mostly from northern Thailand and surrounding areas. |

Mr. Adam Silver. Director of the Asian Cultural Center of Vermont, USA was one of the 5 member US delegation that attended the opening ceremonies. He came presenting 18 letters of good will and support from VT's US Senators, Congress Reps and Governor offices and as well as others. For full list see below. |

Attendance. Over 700 people attended the opening day. The show continued to be well attended up until the day it closed. Many Thai schools and colleges had booked tours for the students and used the show as a teaching aid. |
Dr. Bander Dr Diana Bander, a member of the ACCVT and a part of the 5 person US delegation, gave a presentation of her travels to Bhutan called “traveling from the heart”. She dressed in traditional Bhutanese dress along with Dr. Vitthi who translated for the Thai audience. |

Fashion show. The Museum put on a very elaborate “fashion show” and dance for the audience of both Lan Na/Thai and Bhutanese dress. |

Cultural Exchange. Several members of the BOT main office in Bangkok attended the opening as well as the French Ambassador (left). One of the main objectives to this show was cultural awareness, understanding and bringing people together. |
